Devotees throng Muzaffarpur's temples

Patna, Sharadiya Navratri began today. This year, Navratri will last for 10 days and is considered to be of special significance. The first day marked the beginning of Navratri with the worship of Mata Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga, and the installation of the Kalash.
Devotees began thronging various temples in Muzaffarpur since early morning. Devotees arrived at the temples chanting "Jai Mata Di" and offered prayers to the Goddess. The city's Rajrajeshwari Shaktipeeth, Santoshi Mata Temple, Mahamaya Temple, and Banglamukhi Temple saw particularly large crowds. Devotees believe that visiting the Goddess on the first day of Navratri removes all sorrows and fulfills wishes. The temples have been lavishly decorated and special prayers have been performed.
Mithilesh Tiwari, the chief priest of the Rajrajeshwari Devi Temple, explained that this temple holds special significance. Devotees from far and wide come here not only during Navratri but throughout the year to visit. Special preparations are made at the temple during Navratri so that devotees do not face any difficulties.
The temple administration has arranged separate queues for male and female devotees. NCC soldiers have been deployed for security, and CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the temple complex to keep an eye on miscreants. An atmosphere of religious fervor has prevailed throughout the city since the first day of Navratri.
