790-page chargesheet filed in Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, Sonam made main accused
Meghalaya Police SIT has filed a 790-page chargesheet in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, naming his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi as the main accused along with lover Raj Kushwaha and three others. The murder of the Indore businessman during honeymoon shocked the nation. All accused are in custody, while more co-accused may face a supplementary chargesheet.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police has filed a chargesheet in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. The chargesheet names Raja's wife Sonam Raghuvanshi as the main accused. Sonam's lover Raj Kushwaha and three others have also been accused of murder. Meghalaya Police said in a statement that a 790-page chargesheet has been filed in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate of Sohra sub-division in the murder case of the Indore businessman. The murder had shocked the entire country.
All five accused including Sonam in police custody
All five accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody. Apart from Sonam and Raj, Akash Rajput, Anand Kurmi and Vishal Singh Chauhan are accused of killing Raja Raghuvanshi. On May 23, during their honeymoon, Sonam along with other accused brutally murdered her husband Raja Raghuvanshi. All the accused have been charged under Section 103 (I) of murder, Section 238 (a) of destruction of evidence of crime and Section 61 (2) of criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code.
After the forensic report, a supplementary chargesheet will also be filed against three co-accused
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Saim said that after the forensic report comes, a supplementary chargesheet will be filed against three more co-accused. These three co-accused include property dealer Silom James, Lokendra Tomar, the owner of the building where Sonam hid after committing the crime, and Balbir Ahirbar, a security guard of the area. James, Tomar and Ahirwar were arrested on charges of destroying and concealing evidence and all three are currently out on bail.
What is the whole matter
Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi got married on May 11. According to the police, before marriage, Sonam was in a relationship with Raj Kushwaha, an employee of her family's furniture sheet factory, and she was not happy with her marriage to Raja. Sonam also used to handle her family business. After marriage, Raja and Sonam reached Meghalaya for their honeymoon, from where both went missing on May 23. Later Raja's body was recovered from the forest. When the missing Sonam was being searched by the police, she was found in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh on June 8. During interrogation, Sonam confessed to killing Raja. After this, the police arrested Akash, Vishal and Anand involved in the murder from Uttar Pradesh and Indore and Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. Later Raj Kushwaha was also arrested. On June 11, Sonam allegedly confessed to killing her husband.
