A day after the killing of dreaded Maoist Madavi Hidma in Andhra Pradesh, security forces have launched an operation. Seven Maoists were reportedly killed in an encounter in the Maredumilli area of ​​the state. ADG of Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Mahesh Chandra Laddha said during a press conference that the Maoists killed included three women. Their identities are being ascertained.

According to police, one of the killed Maoists was Meturi Jokha Rao, alias Tek Shankar. He was a resident of Srikakulam and was responsible for the Andhra-Odisha border. He was technically adept and had a strong command of weapons and communications equipment.

According to senior officials, the encounter with the Maoists occurred around 7 am. ADG Laddha stated that Shankar had been involved with the Maoist movement for the past 20 years and had been changing locations every time security operations were conducted. He speculated that Shankar had come to this southern state to revitalize the Maoist movement.

The Andhra Pradesh police have also arrested approximately 50 CPI (Maoist) cadres from various regions of the state. The operations were carried out in Krishna, Eluru, NTR Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema districts. This has dealt a severe blow to the Maoist organization's South Bastar and Dandakaranya networks.

According to the police, those arrested include senior Maoists, communications experts, armed platoon members, and party members. All of them were working closely with Madvi Hidma, a member of the Central Committee of the CPI (Maoist).

Hidma was killed in a security forces operation a day earlier.

It is noteworthy that Madvi Hidma, a Naxalite carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, was killed in an encounter on the Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border on Tuesday. A total of six Naxalites, including Hidma and his wife Raje alias Rajakka, were killed in the encounter. Some weapons and ammunition, specifically two AK-47s, kit bags, and other items, were recovered from the Naxalites.

Who was Madvi Hidma?

Madvi Hidma was born in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Hidma, who took up arms at the age of 16, was the mastermind of several major attacks. He was a wanted Naxalite with a bounty of Rs 1 crore.

Madvi Hidma was the commander of Battalion Number One, considered the Naxalite's most dangerous military unit. He had been eluding security forces for a long time.
