Police Verification Goes Digital
The biggest change in the new passport rules is police verification. According to the new rules, passport verification will now be done digitally. With the use of new technology, verification will be completed in a matter of days instead of weeks, ensuring faster delivery of passports.

Passport first, verification later!
The Government of India is offering post-police verification for certain special categories. This means that the passport will be issued to the applicant first, and the police verification process will be completed afterward.

No need for photocopies!
You will no longer need to carry numerous photocopies of documents to the passport office. Digital documents will now be prioritized through Aadhaar cards and DigiLocker. This will make online verification much easier.

Minor children will easily obtain passports
Parents will no longer have to worry about obtaining passports for their children. Digital birth certificates and school ID cards will now be easily accepted, significantly reducing the time it takes for minors to obtain passports.

The passport application portal will be improved
The government has completely updated the official passport portal. Applicants can now complete their applications online, pay fees, and track their application status in real-time without any technical issues.

Passport centers will also be established in smaller cities.
To bring passport services closer to the common citizen, the government is opening new centers in rural areas and smaller towns. People will no longer have to travel to larger cities for passport work.
