CM Nitish Kumar's big announcement before Bihar elections, 1 woman in every house will get Rs 10,000
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced a new scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’ to empower women with financial aid for self-employment. Every family’s woman will receive ₹10,000 as the first installment and up to ₹2 lakh after 6 months, along with support for marketing through haat bazaars.

Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a big announcement on August 29, he wrote on social media that a new scheme 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' has been approved in the cabinet meeting. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to a woman from all the families of the state to start employment of their choice.
Bihar CM wrote on social media that we have worked extensively for women empowerment since the formation of the government in November 2005. Many important steps have been taken to make women empowered and self-reliant. Now women are not only contributing to the progress of Bihar with their hard work but they are also strengthening the economic condition of their families.
Approval to 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana'
He further wrote that taking this mission forward, we have now taken an important and unprecedented decision in the interest of women, which will have positive far-reaching results. He informed that the Bihar government has approved a new scheme 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' for employment of women in the cabinet meeting.
The first installment will be Rs 10,000
As financial assistance, an amount of Rs 10,000 will be given as the first installment to a woman from all families for employment of her choice. The process of receiving applications from interested women will be started soon. Its entire system and process will be determined by the Rural Development Department and for this, the cooperation of the Urban Development and Housing Department will also be taken as per the need.
2 lakh rupees will be given after assessment
The CM said that from September 2025 itself, the transfer of funds to the bank accounts of women will be started. After 6 months of starting employment by women, additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh can be given as per the need. Haat bazaars will be developed for the sale of women's products from villages to cities. The CM expressed confidence that I am confident that the implementation of this scheme will not only strengthen the position of women but will also provide better employment opportunities within the state and people will not be forced to go out of the state for employment.
