Patna, Bihar: Ahead of the elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been continuously giving gifts to the people of Bihar. A day before the start of Dussehra, he made a major announcement for Vikas Mitras. On Sunday morning, he announced on his social media platform that every Vikas Mitra working under the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission will be given funds to purchase a tablet, and transportation and stationery allowances will be increased. CM Nitish Kumar wrote that following the principle of development with justice, our government is continuously working for the upliftment of the deprived sections of society.

Transport allowance increased to Rs. 2500 per month

Announcing this, he said that Vikas Mitras play an important role in providing the benefits of various government development and welfare schemes to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to provide a lump sum of ₹25,000 to each Vikas Mitra working under the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission to purchase a tablet to facilitate data maintenance and other work related to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. It has also been decided to increase the transportation allowance of Vikas Mitra from ₹1,900 per month to ₹2,500 per month, and the stationery allowance from ₹900 to ₹1,500 per month. This will facilitate their field visits and document collection.

The government will also provide funds for the purchase of smartphones.

CM Nitish Kumar said that education workers (including those from Talimi Markaz) who are playing a vital role in providing education to Mahadalit, Dalit, minority, and extremely backward class children and in making women literate under the Akshar Anchal Yojana will be provided ₹10,000 each to purchase smartphones for digital activities. Also, it has been decided to increase the amount being paid under the teaching material head from Rs 3405 to Rs 6000 per centre per year.
