Accounts of black money are recorded in 5 diaries of the engineer, EOU found shocking evidence during the raid

Patna, Superintendent Engineer of Rural Works Department Vinod Kumar Rai, who burnt notes worth lakhs of rupees on getting a hint of raid, has recorded the account of black money in five diaries of different colors.

The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has recovered these diaries during the raid from the residence located at Bhootnath Road in Patna. These mention the transactions done in different years along with mobile numbers.

According to police sources, mobile numbers are also recorded along with the accounts in the silver colored diary, which are being verified. The orange colored diary written Tirupati Enterprise has the account of transactions of the year 2024.

A diary of the year 2022 written Chartered Accountant has also been recovered, in which the accounts of 2022 are written. Accounts are also recorded in two coffee colored diaries.

Apart from this, three red and black colored pen drives have also been recovered, the data of which is being investigated. PAN card of Lavkush Petroleum has also been recovered during the raid.

Accounts in all major banks, cheque books found in large numbers

Corrupt engineer Vinod Rai has more than a dozen bank accounts and passbooks. Cheque books of all major banks like HDFC, ICICI, Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Allahabad Bank, State Bank of India, Unior Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank have been found by the EOU during the raid.

Two blank cheques of HDFC Bank have been found, on which there are different signatures of Rohit Kashyap and Monika Kumari. Similarly, a signed blank cheque of PNB has also been recovered.

Apart from this, a cheque of Rs. 2.5 lakh of Bank of India has been found, on which there is the name of Usha Devi and signature of Vinod Kumar Rai. Signatures of wife Babli Rai have been found on the blank cheque of Bank of India and the cheque of Rs. 2 lakh of Union Bank.
