Strict action against overloaded vehicles in Damoh, Court imposes fine of 1.12 lakh rupees

Damoh, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Shrutkirti Somvanshi and the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Sujit Singh Bhadauria, the traffic police are continuously taking action against vehicles violating traffic rules.
On February 23, 2026, Station House Officer Traffic Inspector Dalveer Singh Marco, along with the station staff, conducted a vehicle checking campaign. During the checking, two Walker vehicles were found carrying goods in excess of the prescribed load capacity.
Overloaded Vehicles
Walker number RJ 19 GJ 0819 – 16 tons more than the prescribed capacity
Walker number RJ 19 GJ 0818 – 20 tons more than the prescribed capacity
Seizure panchnama was prepared against both vehicles and they were seized. The case was presented before the Hon'ble Court on 24 February 2026, where the Court imposed a fine of Rs 52,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively, totalling Rs 1,12,000.
The Traffic Police has appealed to the drivers and owners of vehicles to adhere to the prescribed load capacity, so that road accidents can be curbed and the traffic system remains safe.
