A fine of ₹21,000 will be imposed on illegal liquor in the village of Imlai, Seven important decisions were taken at the Gram Sabha held in the Kher Mata Temple premises

Damoh, A Gram Sabha was held in the Kher Mata Temple premises in Damoh, Imlai Gram Panchayat, on Sunday. A large number of villagers attended the Gram Sabha. Seven important resolutions were unanimously passed to make the village drug-free and maintain social discipline.

The Gram Sabha decided that anyone selling illegal liquor within the village limits of Imlai would be fined ₹21,000. Anyone disturbing the peace by drinking alcohol within the village would be fined ₹5,100. Those who fail to pay the fine will be ostracized from society and police action will be taken against them.

It was decided that the proceeds from the fine will be used for the renovation of the Kher Mata Temple. In addition, a monitoring committee will be formed from among the village youth who do not consume alcohol. This committee will keep an eye on alcohol sellers and drinkers.

The Gram Sabha also decided that in the event of a disturbance due to alcohol consumption, only video recordings will be considered as evidence; verbal complaints will not be accepted. The entire proceedings of the Gram Sabha will be widely publicized so that all citizens of the village are aware of these rules.

On this occasion, the villagers resolved that through collective efforts, they will establish their village as a drug-free, safe, and cultured village.
