Indefinite strike of transporters in Bihar from 25th August The Federation put forth these demands before the government
Bihar Motor Transport Federation has warned of an indefinite strike from 25 August if demands are not met. Transporters demand end to police harassment, faster permit renewal, and inclusion of private buses on interstate routes. Talks with the government are scheduled for 24 August.

Muzaffarpur, Bihar transporters can go on indefinite strike from 25th August regarding their demands. Before going on indefinite strike, transporters will hold talks with the government on 24th August regarding their demands. An official of Bihar Motor Transport Federation said that if the government accepts their demands, the strike will be withdrawn. If the talks are not successful, then we will go on strike from 25th August.

Main demand of Bihar Motor Federation
To free the drivers from unnecessary harassment by police
Police taking unnecessary photographs of all vehicles (bus, truck, three wheeler, four wheeler and motorcycle), imposing fine and sending message on mobile, should be abolished.
It takes about six months to one year to apply for timely renewal of permit in RTA and fine is levied on it, it should be abolished.
It takes six months to one year to harass the vehicle owner to return the permit, it should be abolished.
After approval of the permit, it takes two to four months to issue it by the office whereas the rule is to send it by post within a week, it should be abolished.
Many such vehicles for which the message of fine has been received even though they are not plying on the road should be scrapped.
Arrangements should be made to issue complete Bihar School Permit to private vehicle owners for school buses so that private vehicle owners can also buy vehicles and do business.
Participation of private buses should be ensured for inter-state routes UP, Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh.
There used to be fine on commercial vehicles earlier also for which execution was being done by the magistrate in the court but now on being fined, as there is no arrangement for appeal in the court, the vehicle owner has to spend more money along with facing trouble.
