First phase of SIR completed in Bihar, More than 7 crore forms were submitted; names of 65 lakh voters will be deleted
The first phase of Special Intensive Revision of the voter list in Bihar has concluded, with 7.23 crore forms uploaded digitally. As per ECI, 65.2 lakh names are set to be deleted. Draft voter list will be published on August 1, and claims & objections will be accepted till August 30.

On the instructions of the Election Commission, the first phase of the special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar was completed on Saturday. With this, the Election Commission's window ECI Net was closed for uploading the counting form online by BLOs or general voters regarding the revision. The first phase of SIR was completed in Bihar from 24 June to 26 July. In this, along with the election machinery, the cooperation of 12 recognized national and state level political parties and municipal body personnel and others was taken.
According to the Election Commission, as per the report received from BLOs and BLAs till Friday, names of 65.2 lakh voters are set to be deleted. 99.8 percent of Bihar voters have participated in the special intensive revision. Out of 7.90 crore voters in the state, forms of 7.23 crore have been submitted and they have also been uploaded digitally. According to the Commission, the names of all these 7.23 crore voters will be included in the draft voter list.
According to the information received from the Election Commission, after the completion of the first phase of SIR, the preparation for the publication of the draft voter list has started. Under this, the work of updating the data located on the control table will be done. Under this, booth-wise data will be updated. After this, the final publication of the draft voter list will be done on August 1.
The process of uploading documents will start from August 1
Now, the Election Commission will receive claims and objections, upload documents and settle claims and objections between August 1 and 30. Under this, the voters whose names will not be included in the draft list will also have to apply afresh by filling the prescribed form and submit the necessary documents along with the claim. This process will be completed through both online and BLO mediums.
