Anuppur’s three-day Aakanksha Haat began at Samatpur pond under Ajeevika Mission to empower women self-help groups and promote handicraft products. Inaugurated by Minister Dilip Jaiswal and MP Himadri Singh, the fair showcases Kodo-based foods, Gondi painting, woodcraft, sculptures, and local products. The event aims to provide a platform and market access for SHGs and entrepreneurs.

Anuppur, Aakanksha Haat, running for three days under the banner of Ajeevika Mission, started on Thursday at Samatpur pond complex in the district headquarters with the aim of economically empowering women self-help groups and encouraging the products of handicrafts. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Village Industries of Madhya Pradesh Government Shri Dilip Jaiswal and MP of Shahdol Parliamentary constituency Smt. Himadri Singh inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon. Aakanksha Haat will be organized till 30th August. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Village Industries Shri Dilip Jaiswal and MP Smt. Himadri Singh observed the products prepared by the self-help groups at the stalls set up by them in Akanksha Haat and praised the creative activities of the groups and the quality of the products and said that this Akanksha Haat is a living example of economic empowerment of self-help groups as per the intention of the government, where the groups have prepared various types of excellent products which will provide sustainability to their livelihood. The objective of Akanksha Haat is also to provide a platform to the products of local entrepreneurs and self-help groups, where the general public can get acquainted with their products and the product and the producer can get a market.

In the program, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Village Industries and MP also tasted the Kodo ki Kheer and Idli prepared by the sisters of the group and appreciated it. Also, they took photos with the products of the group at the selfie point of Akanksha Haat and praised the quality organization of the district administration.

12 stalls have been set up in Akanksha Haat. In which stalls of various products made from Kodo and Kodo such as Kodo cookies, Kodo namkeen with honey, Gondi painting, Bijapuri woodcraft, sculpture, food items like pickles, papad, badi, chips, namkeen, wash products like handwash, dishwash, soap etc. have been set up by the self-help groups under the livelihood mission and local dishes like Kodo ki kheer, idli, pulao etc. have been set up by the sisters of Amarkantak Horticulture Producer Company.
On this occasion, Collector Mr. Harshal Pancholi, Superintendent of Police Mr. Moti ur Rehman, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Mr. Tanmay Vashisht Sharma, SDM Pushprajgarh Mr. Wasim Ahmed Bhat, SDM Anuppur Mr. Kamlesh Puri, District Project Manager Livelihood Mission Mr. Shashank Pratap Singh, Assistant Director Horticulture Mr. Subhash Chandra Srivastava, officers and employees of various departments, sisters of self-help groups, public representatives, common people, journalists of electronic and print media were present.
