Katni, Congress workers and common people in Barwara block of Katni district are on a hunger strike and indefinite Satyagraha against the poor state of the health system. They say that the Barwara Community Health Center itself is in a dilapidated condition and needs better treatment.
Ranjit Singh, a tribal community office-bearer of the Barwara Congress, said that they have been on a hunger strike and indefinite Satyagraha with the public for two days. Their demand is that the condition of the Community Health Center in Barwara block is pathetic. A Block Medical Officer should be appointed at the health center. The current staff acts as they please. The health center should have an X-ray machine, CT scan machine, ambulance, and doctors should be appointed because twenty-five villages are connected to Barwara block and the entire area is a tribal region. I met the Chief Health Officer today and informed him about the demands of the people who are on strike.
Meanwhile, Chief Health Officer Dr. Raj Singh said that people are on a hunger strike and indefinite Satyagraha regarding the health system in Barwara block. A regular doctor is already posted there. The villagers have several demands, and efforts will be made to fulfill them.
