Grand Celebration of Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Shajapur Assembly Constituency, Enthusiasm and Confidence Visible Among the Players

Shajapur, Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Sansad Khel Mahotsav (Parliamentary Sports Festival), organized across the country with the aim of promoting fitness, sports culture, and local sporting talent, concluded with a grand event in the Shajapur Assembly constituency on January 15, 2026. The program commenced at the sports ground of the local Government Excellence Higher Secondary School, Shajapur, with a remarkable presence of players, sports enthusiasts, and general citizens.
District Sports Officer Shri Ravindra Hardia informed that various sports competitions were organized at different venues under this festival. Kabaddi competitions for boys and girls were held at Gandhi Hall, Mallakhamb at the stadium ground, volleyball and basketball at the Hind Junior School ground, while Kho-Kho, tug-of-war, and 100-meter and 200-meter races were held at the ground of Government Excellence Higher Secondary School, Shajapur.
Inauguration and Cultural Performances
The program commenced with the traditional worship of Goddess Saraswati. Following this, students from Vidya Kunj School and C.M. Rise School presented attractive cultural performances, which added to the grandeur of the event. The inaugural session began with the 100-meter race, which instilled enthusiasm among the players.
Prizes and Honors Awarded to Players
In team sports, the winning, runner-up, and third-place teams were awarded prize money of ₹11,000, ₹7,000, and ₹5,000 respectively. In individual sports, the prizes were ₹5,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000 respectively. Along with this, all the first, second, and third-place winners were honored with trophies and medals.
Member of Parliament Shri Mahendra Singh Solanki distributed T-shirts to all the participating players. During the competition, the MP inspected all the sports grounds, interacted with the players, and encouraged them. Inspiring Addresses by Guests
Addressing the award distribution ceremony, MP Shri Mahendra Singh Solanki said that
“Sports not only build physical capacity but also instill discipline, leadership, and self-confidence. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has transformed sports into a national movement, bringing forth talent from rural areas and small towns. The MP Sports Festival is a result of this vision.”
He congratulated the winning players and told the runners-up that defeat is not a source of despair, but a stepping stone to success. With continuous practice and a positive attitude, they too will become winners in the future.
MLA Shri Arun Bhimawat said in his address that
“The land of Shajapur is rich in talent. The government is working towards building a healthy India by keeping the youth away from drugs, despair, and misguided paths through sports.”
BJP District President Dr. Ravi Pandey said that
“The sports festival is a platform of opportunities for the youth. It not only hones sporting talent but also strengthens the spirit of nation-building among the youth.”

The program was conducted by teacher Mrs. Rekha Purohit and Manish Ji Jaiswal. The vote of thanks was given by Mandal President Ashish Nagar.
