Raipur, Paddy procurement in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will begin on November 15th this year under the Kharif marketing season 2025-26. The state government has announced that a maximum of 21 quintals of paddy per acre will be purchased from all registered farmers at the support price. The deadline for registration has been set as October 31st.

The Chief Minister announced that the target for paddy procurement this year is approximately 160 lakh metric tons. The government also clarified that farmers will be paid directly into their bank accounts through e-pop and online systems.

This time, the paddy procurement rate is expected to be approximately ₹3,100 per quintal, which includes the minimum support price fixed by the central government and an additional bonus from the state government.

For the convenience of farmers, procurement centers will be scheduled through a token system, online registration, and a mobile app. The government claims that small and marginal farmers will be given priority so that they can receive payment quickly.

However, there are some concerns among farmers regarding the procurement date. Many farmers' organizations believe that if the procurement process starts late, it will risk spoiling the standing crop after harvesting. On the other hand, opposition parties have accused the government of imposing unnecessary conditions and delays in the procurement process, which could increase problems for farmers.

Meanwhile, reports of damage to standing paddy crops due to unseasonal rains and storms have also emerged in many parts of the state. Farmers' organizations have demanded that affected farmers be given adequate compensation and special procurement discounts.

Overall, the state government has taken several technical steps to make the procurement process transparent and systematic, but given the weather and administrative challenges, it remains to be seen how easily farmers will receive relief.
