Massive fire in Mahalaxmi Rice Mill in Katni, Wardan worth lakhs burnt to ashes
A massive fire broke out at Mahalaxmi Rice Mill in Lamtara, Katni, due to a suspected short circuit. Hundreds of grain wardans were destroyed, causing losses worth lakhs. Four fire brigade vehicles and police controlled the blaze after hours of effort, with no casualties reported.

Katni, A massive fire suddenly broke out late at night in Mahalaxmi Rice Mill located in Lamtara under Kuthla police station area of Katni city. The fire took a monstrous form in a short time and hundreds of grain wardans kept in the mill were burnt to ashes.
Kutla police station in-charge Rajendra Mishra, while giving information, said that short circuit can be considered the main reason for this fire. At the time of the incident, all the employees working in the mill had safely come out after seeing the fire, so no one got burnt in this fire.
As soon as the information of the fire was received, four fire brigade vehicles immediately reached the spot and the rescue operation to control the fire continued. The fire brigade personnel are having a lot of difficulty in extinguishing the fire, because the rice and wardans stored in the mill are highly inflammable material. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of panic and terror in Lamtara and the surrounding areas. The smoke rising from the fire is visible from far away. The administration and police team have also reached the spot and the fire was brought under control after hours of effort. It was also told that goods worth lakhs of rupees have been destroyed in this fire. The police of Kuthla police station, who reached the spot, are busy investigating the entire matter.
