Ghaziabad becomes the new hub of air travel, Indigo flights started for 9 cities
Indigo Airlines begins flights from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport to 9 major cities, easing travel for Delhi-NCR passengers. The move boosts regional connectivity under the UDAN scheme and marks rapid growth of Hindon as a key aviation hub.

There is good news for the passengers of Delhi-NCR. Indigo Airlines has now started its flights from Ghaziabad-based Hindon Airport. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu inaugurated these flights and called it a big step towards promoting India's regional connectivity.
No need to go to the airport
Now passengers will not need to go to Delhi's crowded Indira Gandhi International Airport. Flights have started directly from Hindon Airport to 9 major cities, including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Varanasi, Goa, Patna, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Indore. This will reduce both travel time and inconvenience.
Flights started from Hindon
Earlier Air India Express had started flights from Hindon, and now Indigo has become the second major airline operating from this airport. It is clear from this that the capacity and importance of Hindon Airport is increasing rapidly.
Flight of the common Indian
This achievement is the result of the success of the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. The minister said that this is not just the development of an airport, but it is the flight of the common Indian. About Rs 50 crore was spent on this project started in 2019. At that time only 8,000 passengers used to travel from this airport annually, whereas now this number has crossed 80,000.
Aviation sector in the budget
The central government has announced special incentives for the aviation sector in the 2025-26 budget. A target has been set to add 120 new destinations and reach 4 crore passengers in the coming years. The government aims to establish India as a global aviation hub by 2030.
Launch of new flights from the airport
The launch of new flights from Hindon Airport is a big gift not only for Delhi-NCR but for the entire western Uttar Pradesh. This will accelerate regional development and air travel of common people will become even more convenient.
