Saharanpur, Kisan Diwas was organized at the new auditorium, Collectorate complex, Saharanpur district. On this occasion, Sandeep Pal, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Saharanpur, Kapil Kumar, District Agriculture Officer, Saharanpur, Gampal Singh, District Horticulture Officer, Saharanpur, Sushil Kumar, District Sugarcane Officer, Saharanpur, Dr. Manoj Singh, Scientist KVK, Sahadev, Junior Engineer, Dr. Karmveer Singh Yadav, UP Dosp, Vijay Kumar, Executive Engineer, Electricity Department-I, Raj Kapoor, Executive Engineer, Electricity Department-II, Vijay Kumar, District Project Manager, Manukant, Assistant Engineer, Irrigation Department, Neetu Singh, Assistant Engineer, Tubewell Department, Ramnath Singh, ADO Rural Development Department, Shankydev, AE Jal Nigam, Shanti Swaroop Kushwaha AEMI, Krishnadas, LDM, Syed Shah Hussain, Lead Bank, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Deputy Veterinary Officer, Ravishankar AR Cooperative, Bhupendra Malik, Nauratu Singh Badal, Jabar Singh SMS, Saharanpur, and other district officials participated in Kisan Diwas. Approximately 55 farmers from the district participated in Kisan Diwas. Amar Tyagi, District President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Sangharsh Morcha, stated that due to the unavailability of DAP and urea at the Basera Cooperative Society, farmers are being charged exorbitant prices by private dealers, leading to exploitation. Information was given regarding sugarcane payments. The government has a provision for sugarcane payment within 14 days of delivery to the mill, but the mill is not making payments even after several months. Raising the problems faced by farmers in the district, it was mentioned that sugarcane mill employees have taken fertilizers and medicines from farmers' slips without their consent. Farmer Mangeram, a resident of village Ludhali, reported issues related to underweight sugarcane weighing and delayed payment for sugarcane. Farmer Munnu Singh, a resident of village Dagheda, complained about an 11,000-volt power line that is sagging in the Scheduled Caste settlement, posing a risk of accidents and human casualties, and demanded its rectification. Ashok Kumar, a resident of village Suhagani, requested the widening of the Suhagani to Amboli road. Farmer Madan Singh, a resident of village Maheshpur, reported that a culvert on the Maheshpur-Shimla road is broken, causing difficulties for farmers in their agricultural work, and demanded its repair. Smt. Poonam Sharma, Gram Pradhan (Village Head) of Beri Taga, Baliyakhedi, reported that Mukesh Dhiman, son of Rampal, resident of village Bambiyala, Rampur Maniharan, mobile numbers 7453076868, 9084000840, 9557689131, has taken ₹1,50,000 from 30-40 individuals and herself, promising them jobs. She alleged that this person misleads various people and requested the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to investigate his fraudulent activities. Sandeep Pal, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Saharanpur, informed the farmers that they can book free seed minikits for sowing Zaid urad, moong, and sugarcane intercropping online through the Agriculture Department portal by registering by January 31, 2026. He also assured that all the applications/complaints submitted by the farmers present at the Kisan Diwas (Farmers' Day) would be forwarded to the concerned officers for resolution.
