Chances of rain in 38 districts of Bihar till September 8, Kosi-Ganga in spate, danger of flood in these areas
Monsoon activity continues in Bihar with chances of rain across all districts till September 8. Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Begusarai and other districts may receive showers. Ganga and Kosi rivers are flowing above danger level, creating flood threats in Munger, Bhagalpur, Khagaria and Katihar. Authorities have started relief and rescue operations.

Patna, monsoon has weakened a bit in Bihar but there are chances of rain in all the districts from today till September 8. There are chances of rain at one or two places in North-West, North-Central, North-East, South-West Bihar, South-Central, South-East Bihar. There are chances of rain in entire Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, Lakhisarai and Jehanabad. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be cautious. Here, Ganga and Kosi are in spate due to continuous rain. The effect of continuous heavy rain in Nepal is clearly visible on the Kosi river of Bihar. After heavy rain in the catchment areas, the water level of Kosi river increased rapidly from Sunday evening. The discharge of water from Barahkshetra of Nepal division also kept increasing and decreasing continuously. According to the report of the Water Resources Department, the flow of Kosi has already crossed the danger mark in Dumri and Baltara of Khagaria, Vijay Ghat Bridge of Bhagalpur and Kursela of Katihar. The administration has intensified the preparations for relief and rescue work.
According to the meteorologist, there is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature of most parts of Patna during the next three to four days. At the same time, there is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature in most parts of the state for the next five days. Low pressure is formed over the north-western Bay of Bengal. It is likely to become even more effective in this area during the next 24 hours. After this, it will move towards west-north-west over the next 24 hours.
Flood threat in Munger again
The water level of Ganga is continuously increasing in Munger. After first spreading water in rural areas, now the water of Ganga has entered the urban areas as well. Nearly three feet of water has filled the Lal Darwaza-Geeta Babu link road under the Municipal Corporation area, causing heavy trouble to the drivers. Flood water has also entered many low-lying areas and houses in the Municipal Corporation area. The rural road and Anganwadi center in Adarsh Gram Tika Rampur under Mohli Panchayat of Sadar block have been completely submerged in water.
Flood threat in Bhagalpur too
The threat of flood in the district has deepened once again due to the continuous rise in the water level of the Ganges. The low-lying areas of a total of eight blocks including Kahalgaon, Sultanganj, Nathnagar, Sabour and three blocks of Navgachhiya subdivision of Bhagalpur district have been submerged. Along with the Ganges, the water level of the Kosi river is also flowing above the danger mark, due to which water is rapidly entering the Kosi coastal areas of Navgachhiya subdivision. The administration has declared 92 panchayats of the district as flood affected.
