Trial of Patna Metro starts from Wednesday, How much will be the fare, what will be the timing
The trial of Patna Metro begins on September 3 with an 800-meter test track near Bairia Bus Terminal. The Red Line will connect New Pataliputra Bus Terminal to Zero Mile, Bhootnath, Khemnichak and Malahi Pakadi. Initially, metros will have 3 AC coaches with fares starting from Rs 15. Patna, Trial of Patna Metro is starting from September 3 (Wednesday). The trial will last for a week. During the trial, the metro will run on an 800 meter long track. This test will be done after charging the 132 kV switch station at the metro depot near Bairia Bus Terminal. Four 30 MVA power transformers have been installed in the depot, two of which will convert the 132 kV transmission line to 33 kV and power the elevators, escalators and other electrical systems at the stations.
Route of Patna Metro
In the first phase, Patna Metro will be known as the Red Line. The Red Line of Patna Metro will connect New Pataliputra Bus Terminal to Zero Mile, Bhootnath, Khemnichak and Malahi Pakadi. The metro is expected to operate from 5 am to 11 pm daily. However, information has not been given in this regard yet.
How many coaches will be there in Patna Metro
In the initial phase, each metro will have three air-conditioned (AC) coaches, with a total capacity of about 150 passengers. Future expansion plans are to increase the number of coaches to eight.
Patna Metro Fare
According to the information, the minimum fare is likely to start from Rs 15 and the maximum fare can be between Rs 30 to Rs 60. It is being told that the possible fare can be Rs 30 for 3-6 km and Rs 45 for 6-8 km. However, it has not been officially announced yet.
Passengers will be able to buy tickets through automatic vending machines to be installed at the first five metro stations. These machines costing Rs 2.89 crore will accept cash, QR code, credit and debit cards and other payment options.
When will the metro start for the general public
When will the Patna Metro service start. It has not been officially informed but it is believed that it can be inaugurated before November. Metro service can be launched on one section before the Bihar elections.
