Kurukshetra, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the GST reforms recently implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will benefit ordinary citizens in the state by ₹4,000 crore annually and will bring about a major transformation in the economic development of the state and the country. These GST reforms will not only provide relief to traders but will also simplify the lives of ordinary consumers. The key aspect is that citizens can now take advantage of lower GST rates and bring home indigenous products. These reforms will promote ease of doing business and bring transparency to business activities.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was interacting with shopkeepers and traders during a program organized in the main market of Ladwa on Monday to celebrate the statewide Goods and Services Tax savings festival. Earlier, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini garlanded the statue of Maharaja Agrasen at Ramkundi Chowk and, after extending greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on Agrasen Jayanti and the first Navratri, inaugurated the state-wide Goods and Services Tax Festival. Following this, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reached Shaheed Dhingra Chowk via Main Bazaar and Sangam Market, where he provided detailed information to shopkeepers and traders about the government's newly implemented GST rates and urged people to bring home indigenous goods and products. During the event, the Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra. The Chief Minister presented each trader with a rose flower to raise awareness about the Goods and Services Tax Savings Festival and informed them about the reforms and reliefs provided in GST.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the "GST Awareness Campaign" has been launched to disseminate information about the benefits and importance of GST reforms to the public and traders. This campaign will continue until October 15, 2025. To this end, the Excise and Taxation Department is organizing camps based on a detailed action plan. He stated that the first phase of the campaign will run from September 22nd to 29th. All public representatives will actively participate, visiting identified markets daily to inform shopkeepers and customers about the reforms.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that officials from the Chamber of Commerce and various market associations are also being involved in this campaign, so that the business community directly benefits. Social media platforms are also being utilized to promote the GST reforms, with hashtags such as GST Reforms, Ease of Doing Business, Swadeshi, and Haryana being used. He stated that the campaign's objective is not only to provide information about tax reforms but also to encourage people to adopt Indian-made goods and promote the spirit of Swadeshi. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this campaign will not only raise awareness among the business community but also directly benefit the general public, making Haryana even more empowered from a commercial perspective.
On the auspicious occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, Shri Agrawal Sabha Ladwa's President Vikas Singal, Sunil Garg, Durgesh Goyal, Naresh Garg, Naveen Garg and other dignitaries welcomed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and presented him a memento. On this occasion, Chief Minister's Office in-charge Kailash Saini, Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police Nitish Agrawal, Sub-Divisional Officer Pankaj Sethia, BJP District President Tejender Singh Goldy, Municipal Council Chairperson Sakshi Khurana, Mandal President Shiv Gupta, Mandal President Amarendra Singh, Mandal President Vikas Sharma, Mandal President Narendra Singh, BJP leader Nayab Singh Patak Majra, Dr. Ganesh Dutt, Poonam Saini, Sohan Lal Ramgarh and other dignitaries were present.
