District Magistrate Manish Bansal and SSP Ashish Tiwari reviewed preparations for Saharanpur’s Gughal Mela (02–27 September). Key directives included CCTV monitoring, sanitation, barricading, health facilities, fire safety, food stall regulations, parking, traffic control, and strong police deployment to ensure security and smooth conduct of the fair.

Saharanpur, in the presence of District Magistrate Manish Bansal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ashish Tiwari, a review meeting was called in the new auditorium of the Collectorate to prepare for the Mela Gughal to be held from 02 September to 27 September and to maintain peace and law and order. In the meeting, DM Manish Bansal directed to make better arrangements for CCTV cameras, electricity, drinking water, strong barricading, cleanliness in the fair premises. He said that programs promoting culture and nationalism should be organized.
Municipal Commissioner Shipu Giri said that the fair will be organized in Mhadi from 02 to 04 September and Gughal Mela will be organized from 05 to 27 September. DM Manish Bansal said that all departments should ensure to discharge the responsibilities assigned to them properly. Magistrate and police duty should be assigned jointly. Availability of ambulances and doctors should be ensured for health system. Along with cleaning of drains and gutters as per the weather, fogging and spraying of anti-larva should be ensured. Public address systems should be installed in the fair premises. He said that proper parking arrangements should be made. A control room should be established for facilities and resolution of problems. Sufficient police force should be deployed for security in the fair. Food items should be checked and the sellers of Prasad were instructed to keep the Prasad covered for health reasons. Food stalls should be protected with tin sheds and should be set up at a fixed place so that fire safety system can be maintained. Rate list should be pasted on all food shops. Traffic system should be kept better. Shops set up in the fair should be set up at appropriate places. Electricity wires should not be hanging and electricity connections should be given as per rules. Technical testing of swings should be ensured by PWD and no structure should be set up without permission. Instructions were given to the fire department to keep adequate number of fire fighting vehicles in case of emergency under security. The city magistrate and sub-district magistrate should hold a meeting with the fair organizers. Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Santosh Bahadur Singh, Additional City Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, SP City Vyom Bindal, City Magistrate Kuldeep Singh, and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
