Disruption in the celebration of Independence Day in Pakistan, People of PoK raised slogans of freedom
On 14 August Pakistan’s Independence Day, massive protests erupted in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). In Rawalkot, thousands raised slogans of freedom from Pakistan during celebrations, anger against the Pakistani army flared, and police resorted to lathicharge and tear gas. The people of PoK accuse Pakistan of oppression, lack of basic facilities, and using their land for terrorism.

On one hand, Independence Day was being celebrated in Pakistan on 14th August. On the other hand, people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir were raising slogans of freedom from Pakistan. A massive protest was held against Pakistan in Rawalkot of PoK. Actually, on the orders of the Government of Pakistan, a big program was organized on the occasion of Independence Day in Khan Ashraf Khan Sports Complex of Rawalkot. Thousands of people were gathered. The plan was that the national anthem of Pakistan would be sung. Qasidas would be recited in the glory of Pakistan but this move of Pakistan backfired. People who reached the stadium started raising slogans of freedom from Pakistan. The anger of thousands of people present in the stadium erupted against the Pakistani army. People raised slogans calling the Pakistani army a pet of America.
Sloganeering was done in the celebration of Pakistan's independence
Actually, on 14th August, on the Independence Day of Pakistan, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee of PoK had announced a protest. Awami Action Committee says that Pakistan is using PoK as a springboard for terrorists. Pakistani soldiers torture the people of PoK and no one listens to them. Pakistani government has deprived them of basic facilities like water, electricity and food. Joint Awami Action Committee was going to protest against this but before that the big leaders of the committee were arrested by the police.
Police lathicharged
When the people angry with this cruelty of the police reached the sports complex of Rawalkot to celebrate Independence Day, their anger flared up. People disrupted the celebration of Pakistan's independence and started sloganeering. In response, the police used lathis and fired tear gas. In no time, the celebration of independence turned into a war between the police and the public. The part of India which is under the occupation of Pakistan. The condition of the people living there is very bad. They have neither food nor freedom of speech. Now the people living there have also seen the progress of Jammu and Kashmir
