CRPF bunker vehicle falls into ditch in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, 2 soldiers martyred, 12 injured

A bunker vehicle of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) crashed after falling into a deep ditch in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. Two CRPF soldiers were martyred in this incident while 12 soldiers were seriously injured.

This accident was confirmed by CRPF officials and it was told that after the operation was over, the bunker vehicle of 187 battalion was going from Kadwa to Basantgarh with 18 soldiers. Meanwhile, the vehicle crashed and fell into a ditch in Lodhra of Basantgarh tehsil of Udhampur district. This accident happened on Thursday morning at around 10:30 am, in which 2 soldiers present in the vehicle were martyred while 12 soldiers have suffered serious injuries. All the injured soldiers have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

'Help is being ensured', Union Minister Jitendra Singh

After the accident, Union Minister Jitendra Singh wrote, 'I am saddened to hear the news of a road accident involving a CRPF vehicle in the Kandwa-Basantgarh area. Many brave CRPF jawans were in the vehicle. I have just spoken to DC Saloni Rai, who is personally monitoring the situation and giving me information. Rescue operations have been started immediately. Local people have voluntarily come forward to help. Every possible help is being ensured.'
