Cash and jewellery worth lakhs recovered from engineer's house in Patna, As soon as EOU arrived, notes worth 12.50 lakhs were flushed down the toilet
Economic Offences Unit (EOU) arrested Rural Works Department engineer Vinod Kumar Rai in Patna on corruption charges. A raid at his house led to the recovery of ₹52 lakh cash, burnt notes, gold, jewellery worth ₹26 lakh and movable–immovable property worth ₹20 crore. Black money was found hidden in toilet, water tank and kitchen waste pipe.

Patna, Economic Offences Unit (EOU) took a big action in Patna. In this, Superintendent Engineer of Rural Works Department Vinod Kumar Rai was arrested on charges of corruption. During the raid at the house in Bhootnath, Patna, EOU has recovered Rs 52 lakh in cash. A large amount of burnt currency notes is also included in the recovered amount. Not only this, movable and immovable property worth 20 crores including gold biscuits, jewellery worth 26 lakhs, insurance policy, land, house papers have been found.
Black money was hidden in Patna
According to EOU, the arrested engineer is posted in Madhubani district. EOU had received secret information that illegal money has been hidden at his residence in Patna. After this, the team raided his house in Agamkuan police station area on Friday. During the search, the officers were surprised when bundles of notes were recovered from the toilet, water tank and kitchen waste pipe.
Several burnt notes of Rs 500 were found
According to the EOU, several burnt notes of Rs 500 denomination were also found in the recovered amount. Also, several objectionable documents have been seized from the house, which are being investigated. It is being told that as soon as the EOU reached, the people of the house burnt the bundle of notes and threw them in the toilet. After this, the EOU team called the Municipal Corporation team and after a lot of hard work, burnt and half-burnt Rs 12 lakh 50 thousand were recovered.
