Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during the weekly public hearing on Wednesday. This incident happened during the public hearing at the Chief Minister's residence. The accused person has been arrested.

According to the officials of the Chief Minister's residence, when the CM was conducting the public hearing, at the same time a person reached there with his complaint. During this, he slapped the Chief Minister. The accused was taken to the Civil Lines Police Station.

In the initial information, the accused has given his name as Rajesh Bhai Khimji Sakaria. The accused is a resident of Rajkot. He is 41 years old. According to Home Ministry sources, Delhi Police has informed the Home Ministry about the attack on the Chief Minister of Delhi.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar also said that a person reached CM Gupta on the pretext of public hearing. He first gave some papers to the CM, then started shouting and slapped her. However, the Delhi BJP President has denied slapping the Delhi CM.

The people present there caught hold of that person. The police is currently investigating who that person is. The police is currently engaged in a full investigation. The Chief Minister's condition is stable. The doctors have seen her. She is in shock. I have met the Chief Minister. She is a strong woman, she knows that there is a commitment towards Delhi. She has said that she will not stop from her daily work. She has not been stoned, she has not been slapped, whatever is going on is wrong.

Expressing concern over this incident, Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma said that the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the public hearing at her residence is highly condemnable and a direct attack on democratic values. The public hearing program is a means of connecting directly with the people, where the public can convey their questions and doubts to the Chief Minister without any fear or hindrance. Any attempt to disrupt such a sacred democratic process can never be accepted. Appropriate action will be taken against the culprits.

The age of the accused person who attacked the Delhi CM is said to be 35 years. Delhi BJP has condemned this incident. BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri said that I feel that this attempt to attack Rekha Gupta has been made with the intention of derailing the public hearing.
