Patna, the government will soon set up five dairy plants in Bihar. Dairy plants will be set up in Rohtas, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Gaya and Sitamarhi areas. Rs 317 crore will be spent on these. Also, new utensils will also be purchased in 1.15 lakh Anganwadi centers of the state.

For this, the government has approved a budget of more than Rs 115 crore. These proposals were approved in the state cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 41 proposals were approved in the meeting.

Dairy plant to strengthen the rural system

After the cabinet meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Dr. S Siddharth said that the government has approved the proposal to set up five dairy plants to promote agriculture and related activities and strengthen the rural economy.

These dairy plants will be set up in Darbhanga, Gaya, Wazirganj in Sitamarhi and Dehri on Son in Rohtas. Apart from two lakh liters per day in Darbhanga and Wazirganj (Gaya), one lakh liters of milk will be processed in Gopalganj and 30-30 metric tons of milk powder will be produced in Son Dairy (Rohtas) and Sitamarhi. All the dairy plants are being set up under SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF).

Formation of Commission for socio-economic upliftment of Safai Karamcharis

The Cabinet has approved the formation of Bihar State Safai Karamchari Commission for the first time in the state. This commission will work to connect the deprived sections of the society engaged in sanitation work with the mainstream, their social and economic development as well as to protect their rights and interests. The commission will also work for the welfare, rehabilitation, social upliftment and monitoring of these employees.

Now Rs 165.57 crore for land acquisition of Punauradham temple

Dr. Siddharth informed that 50.50 acres of land is to be acquired for Punauradham temple in Sitamarhi district. Earlier Rs 120.58 crore was approved for land acquisition. This amount has been revised. Rs 165.57 crore has been approved for new land acquisition.

New utensils will be purchased for 115 lakh Anganwadi centers

The Cabinet has approved a proposal to spend Rs 115.90 crore to purchase utensils sets under equipment and furniture at 115990 Anganwadi centers operating in the state under Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0 scheme. Utensils will be purchased through e-procurement.
