Woman cheated online of Rs 72,000 in the name of sending 50 kitchen sinks
In Saharanpur, a woman was cheated of ₹72,000 in the name of purchasing 50 kitchen sinks through India Mart. The fraudster posed as the proprietor of a Delhi firm and took payments via bank transfer and UPI. Later, the victim discovered the fraud and lodged a complaint with cyber helpline 1930. Police have registered a case and begun investigation.

Saharanpur, a woman living in the city Kotwali area has been cheated online of Rs 72,000 in the name of sending 50 kitchen sinks. The fraudster described himself as the proprietor of a Delhi-based company. The police have registered a case and started investigation. According to the information, Nitika Maheshwari, a resident of Rajouri House at Dal Mandi Pul, searched for the purchase of kitchen sinks on the India Mart website on June 7, 2025. After this, she started receiving calls from registered sellers. Seller Deepak Goyal described himself as the proprietor of Shriram Enterprises. Deepak sent a visiting card to Nitika through WhatsApp and showed the goods on video call, he asked to transfer money to the Punjab National Bank account. The victim transferred Rs 50,000 from her HDFC bank account. The remaining Rs 22,500 was sent to the mobile number through UPI. On June 11, the victim came to know about the online fraud when she reached the factory located on Delhi Road. The factory does not make kitchen sinks, but cooler bodies. Its proprietor is Deepak Madan. Deepak Madan said that his name and GST number have been misused earlier as well and he has already lodged a complaint at the police station. The victim lodged a complaint on cyber helpline 1930 and submitted all the documents to the concerned authorities. The police have registered a case and started investigating the mobile number.
