Major action by Katni Police, Crackdown on illegal liquor, several accused arrested
Katni police launched a massive district-wide raid against theft, robbery and illegal liquor in Katni, Jabalpur and Maihar. Under ASP Santosh Deharia, teams destroyed 400+ kg Mahua-Lahan, raided Pardhi camps, arrested accused, and registered cases to curb rising crime and illegal liquor trade.

Katni, Katni district police has taken major action to search for the accused involved in the increasing theft, robbery and criminal incidents in Jabalpur and Maihar districts including Katni and to stop criminal activities. Police raided the entire district simultaneously to search for the absconding accused and against illegal liquor. Three special teams of Katni Police raided the camps of Pardhis and suspicious houses and destroyed a large amount of illegal Mahua-Lahan and arrested several accused.
On the instructions of Additional SP Santosh Deharia, a campaign was launched in different areas. CSP Neha Pachisia took action in Kuthla, Sleemanabad and Bilhari police force in Kudo, Hardua and Pathara. Suspicious houses and huts were searched and wherever illegal liquor and lahan was found, it was destroyed on the spot. On the other hand, the team of SDOP Vijayraghavgarh Dhirendra Dharve and police station in-charge Shailendra Yadav and Ritesh Sharma raided Hirapur and Dadri villages and destroyed about 400 kg of Mahua-Lahan. Similarly, the team of DSP Umrao Singh recovered and destroyed a large quantity of Lahan in Biruli and Sangma villages of Rethi and Bahoriband area. Barwara and NKJ police raided Basadi, Dhora Pahadi and Nigera Pahadi, while Bilhari outpost police searched the camps of Pardhi and Nagadia community in Ghughra and Karhiya villages. During this, three people were arrested for keeping illegal liquor and a case was registered against them. Additional SP Santosh Deharia said that the purpose of this joint action is to search for absconding accused, investigate suspicious activities of Pardhis and to strictly prevent illegal liquor.
