Damoh,  district of Bundelkhand always faces water scarcity in summer. Hata and Tendukheda blocks of the district have maximum water problems. The water crisis has deepened in Bhatia Bijouri village of Hata block. Here only two handpumps are giving water, but this is not fulfilling the needs of the villagers. In such a situation, more than 850 villagers have to struggle to make arrangements for water. The villagers are forced to bring water in bullock carts from wells built in the fields 4 km away.

Laxman Lodhi of Bijauri village told that there is a shortage of water in the village. That's why the villagers have to arrange water from early morning till late night. On the one hand, the government is claiming to provide 100 percent water to the villages by running Nal Jal Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, wells and other schemes, on the other hand, the reality is that there is no water system anywhere.

Another villager Govind told that the officers do not come to the village to see the problem, they keep sending reports from their offices to the senior officers. Whereas there is no permanent arrangement of water in the village, so in the morning, keeping the tank on the bullock cart, they go out in search of water.
At the same time, in the rural areas of Tendukheda block of the district, there is such a situation of water scarcity that the villagers migrate with their animals to another district and come back to the village only after 4 months.
