Lokayukta caught Babu Ravi Bohat, posted in Motilal Urban Primary Health Center, red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3300. He had demanded this amount from Asha worker in lieu of issuing monthly payment letter and funds of various government schemes. Lokayukta has registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Demand for bribe and complaint

According to DSP Sulekha Parmar, complainant Sushil Gupta, who is working as an Asha worker in the Primary Health Center of Raza Chowk, told that Ravi Bohat had demanded Rs 100 from him for monthly payment letter and 50 percent of the incentive amount of Rs 1000 received after TT operation. Apart from this, a bribe of Rs 100 from the amount of Newborn Child Care Committee and Rs 2000 from the Rs 5000 given by Mahila Arogya Samiti was also demanded.

Action by Lokayukta

After confirming the veracity of the complaint, the Lokayukta team led by DSP Sulekha Parmar laid a trap. As soon as the ASHA worker gave Rs 3300 to the accused as the first installment, the team caught him red-handed.

Case registered

The Lokayukta has registered a case against the accused Babu Ravi Bohat under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The investigation into the case is underway.
