Katni, Villagers troubled by illegal transportation of sand in Padariya Gram Panchayat under NKJ police station area of Katni district burst out last night. Gram Panchayat Sarpanch sat on the road with the villagers and stopped the vehicles carrying illegal transportation and protested vigorously. Gram Sarpanch Ashish Tiwari alleges that sand is being transported without the permission of the Gram Panchayat, and this work is going on under the protection of a uniformed K.K. Shukla. Sarpanch says that he has complained about this matter to the Collector and SP, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
The sand is being dumped without the permission of the Gram Panchayat and the Mineral Department is ignoring this illegal activity. Mineral Department officer Pawan Kushwaha reached the spot today to investigate this entire matter. During the investigation, they found that the sand, which was kept for use in the construction of the railway line, was dumped on government land, not on railway land. On this basis, the Mineral Department has issued notices to Recon and LNT companies working for the railways and sought their response. When Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Dehriya was asked about this matter, he said that the family members of the policeman KK Shukla, whose name is coming up, have got the work of supplying sand for railway work. However, the entire matter is currently being investigated by the Mineral Department, and further action will be taken on the basis of the report. This illegal mining and transportation being done by ignoring the Gram Panchayat has not only hurt the sentiments of the villagers, but questions are also being raised on the administrative system. Now all eyes are on the action of the Mineral Department and the transparency of the administration.
