Anuppur, Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Anuppur Moti Ur Rehman (IPS), today on Saturday, a video of a school bus being taken through overflowing drain risking the lives of school children went viral on social media. FIR was filed against the bus driver, school operator and principal at Kotwali Anuppur police station and the bus was seized and the driver was arrested.
TI Kotwali Arvind Jain informed that due to continuous rain in the district last night, the water level in all the rivers and drains kept on increasing. Meanwhile, a 22-second video went viral on social media in which Bethel Mission Higher Secondary School Anuppur's school bus number MP. The driver of the bus 65 P 0191 drove the bus into the overflowing drain near Koyalritola Nala Mauhari Village. Due to rain, water was flowing over the culvert of the drain. The driver is seen crossing the drain in a dangerous manner by driving the vehicle carelessly, endangering the lives of the school children sitting in the bus.

While crossing the drain, the driver of school bus no. MP 65 P 0191 deliberately drove the vehicle carelessly, endangering the lives of the school children by driving the vehicle in a dangerous manner in the fast flowing water over Koyalritola Nala. Upon verification of the said video, bus no. MP 65 P 0191 was found to belong to Bethel Mission Higher Secondary School, Amarkantak Road, Anuppur. The owner and operator of the school is P.K. Punnus resident of Anuppur, Principal Sudip Chakraborty resident of Anuppur, driver of bus number MP 65 P 0191 is Hetram Baiga resident of Sakra and today on 24.08.24, after the school closing time of Bethel Mission Higher Secondary School Anuppur at 14.00 pm, while going to Dhirol to drop school children in the bus, at around 15.00 pm, the driver was found taking the vehicle out in the fast flowing water over the drain near Koyalaritola Nala Mauhari village after seating the school children in the bus. On verification of the video on the basis of instructions given to TI Kotwali by Superintendent of Police Anuppur Moti ur Rehman, owner of Bethel Mission Higher Secondary School Anuppur Mr. PK Punnus resident of Anuppur, Principal Dr. Sudip Chakraborty resident of Anuppur, bus number MP 65 P 0191 was found. The driver of bus 65 P 0191 Hetram Baiga resident Sakra was found to have committed the crime under sections 281, 125 BNS, 184 MV Act. A case was registered and the bus was seized and the bus driver Hetram Baiga was arrested. Action is also being taken against the school operator P.K. Punnus resident Anuppur and Principal Sudeep Chakraborty.
