Shajapur, On the last day of the four-day nutrition garden training workshop organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Shajapur, workers of Project Mohan Barodia and Saksham Anganwadi Centers of Kalapipal were given training to establish nutrition garden. The workers were told by Dr. Gayatri Rawal on the nutrition conservation action plan that there are many reasons for malnutrition and anemia, whose roots are deeply connected in the society. There is no shortage of food grains in the society, but there is a need for awareness about food grains. She said that seasonal plants must be planted on the land available at Anganwadi centers and create a nutrition garden as per today's requirement, use vermicompost fertilizer for proper growth of plants. Nutrition is essential for health and well-being at every stage of life, so include fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. He said that the main source of protein is soybean which should be used in daily life. Along with this, by giving proper advice about food items, one should be motivated to consume protein, vitamins, iron rich items in the daily diet. Dr. Gayatri told the workers about the method of making nutrition garden, earthworm compost and conducted a practical visit. On this occasion, senior agricultural scientist Dr. GR Ambavatia explained the importance of nutrition to the workers and gave detailed information about nutritious vegetables and fruits. He told how vegetables can be produced as per requirement even in less space. In-charge District Program Officer Neelam Chauhan gave detailed information to the Anganwadi workers on the village level child protection committee and told about child crime prevention and child protection issues in the village. She also gave information about the duties of the Shorya Yojana and Shorya Dal being run by the department. Instructing the Anganwadi workers, he said that along with the operation of Anganwadi centers, there should not be any kind of negligence in nutrition related activities. Plant vegetables and fruits according to the season and ensure to take care of them in a natural way from time to time.
