Shahdol, In the presence of Shahdol, Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Tarun Bhatnagar and representatives of political parties, the Standing Committee meeting was held in the Virat Auditorium of the Collector's office on Saturday. In the meeting, Collector and District Election Officer Tarun Bhatnagar told that the dates of Lok Sabha elections have been declared by the Election Commission of India today. According to the dates set by the Election Commission of India, the election notification for Shahdol parliamentary constituency will be published on March 20, 2024, the last date for receiving nominations has been fixed for March 27 and the date for voting has been fixed for April 19.

Collector and District Election Officer Tarun Bhatnagar said that political party, institution, organization, individual will not take out any kind of vehicle rally without obtaining competent permission. Vehicles can be used for election campaigning and transportation of election material only after obtaining proper permission. Similarly, for protest, rally, procession etc. without permission, it will be necessary to take proper permission from the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer, Sub-Divisional Magistrate. No political party, institution or organization will hold any meeting, function, gathering etc. in any public place without permission.

Weapons of license holders will be collected...

Along with this, meetings etc. will be completely prohibited on roads, schools, grounds and in the premises of government offices. No person will use fireworks in public places, roads or on roofs of houses. Meetings etc. will be completely prohibited in the premises of government offices. In the meeting, Collector and District Election Officer told that with the implementation of Model Code of Conduct in the district, action is being taken against defacement of property and suspension of arms license.

More than 3 thousand elderly voters....

It was told in the meeting held that as of February 8, 2023, there are a total of 784944 voters in Shahdol district, which includes 399692 women, 385243 men and 9 third gender voters. As on February 8, 2023, a total of 14714 disabled voters and 3023 voters aged 85 and above 85 years are included. Superintendent of Police Kumar Prateek, Additional Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Romanus Toppo, SDM Arvind Shah, Election Supervisor Sanjay Khare, representatives of political parties were present in the meeting.
