Anuppur, on 13 November 2024, a woman resident of Police Station Amarkantak area lodged a report at Police Station Kotwali Anuppur that her 17-year-old minor daughter, who was studying in a hostel of a private college in Anuppur city, suddenly left the hostel without informing. On this complaint, a case was registered under Crime No. 486/24, Section 137 (2) B.N.S. and search for the girl was started.

Immediate action:

On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Anuppur Shri Moti ur Rehman, Assistant Sub Inspector Ashish Singh, Constable Abdul Kalim, and Lady Constable Kavita Vikal were sent to Kolhapur, Maharashtra to search for the kidnapped minor girl. The team, with the help of Thana Kangal, Kolhapur, recovered the minor girl from the custody of Shubham Rathore (19 years), resident of village Mahuda, Thana Jaithari.

Details of the incident:

Investigation revealed that the accused befriended the minor through social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) and developed a love relationship. After this, he lured her and took her to Kolhapur, where both were living. The girl has been handed over to her family and the accused was arrested and produced in the court.
