In accordance with the wishes of the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Mohan Yadav, Damoh MLA Jayant Malaiya along with public representatives, common people, various voluntary organizations, school students, women power, various social organizations started a cleanliness campaign in Belatal from 7 am today under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, which is located in the middle of the city and is the pride of the city. All the people participated in the cleaning and gave a message to the people of the city that this Belatal located in the heart is our pride and glory. Such people were working here who are never seen doing such work. On an appeal by the Chief Minister of the state, the cleaning of wells, stepwells, ponds and water conservation work is being done continuously in the district. Today the scene of Belatal was such that every person was working with enthusiasm, the garbage was being picked up and sent to the tractors through shovels. Seeing this work, it definitely seems that now this Belatal will be clean and neat. During this, Damoh MLA Jayant Kumar Malaiya, District Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar, various social workers, religious and voluntary organizations, NCC, NSS, officers and employees joined hands together and participated in the holy work.
On this occasion, former Finance Minister and Damoh MLA Jayant Malaiya said that under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, a cleaning campaign has been started at all places in the state. All the water sources should be preserved and upgraded. In this sequence, Belatal is being cleaned, this program is going on continuously, people have participated very strongly. If it does not rain for a few days, then this entire pond will be cleaned and this will definitely be a big achievement for all the people.
Giving a message to the people, he said that wherever there are water sources, work to preserve them, it is very useful for us. Jayant Malaiya said that about 30-32 years ago, I had got the three ponds Belatal, Futera Talab and Puraina Talab deepened, at the same time ghats were built and pitching was also done.
Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar said that Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan is being run from 5 June to 16 June on the instructions of the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Mohan Yadav, today is the last day of this campaign, to give a historic form to the last day of this campaign, a cleanliness campaign has been run in Belatal, on one side the work of removing silt is being done with Poklane machines and JCB machines in Belatal and on the other side the people of the city have attended in large numbers and have done the work of removing garbage, manure, polythene from the ghat of the pond by doing hard work with public participation. He said that today I am very happy that the public representatives of the district, people of all societies, people of all organizations, general public, environment lovers have gathered here. Today a cleanliness campaign of about 2 hours has been run.
The collector thanked the people of the district, social organizations, religious-spiritual organizations on behalf of the district administration and said that you people gathered in such a large number and did the cleaning work here. Our work going forward is to make Belatal unique, the caravan that has started now should not stop, for this, first of all we will do as much cleaning as we can here through machines and manpower, so that the water of the coming rain remains clean here. He said, as the citizens here tell that our grandfathers-great grandfathers used to drink the water here, our full effort will be to bring this pond to that form and make it stand again.
Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar said that all the public representatives including Damoh MLA were present here since morning. MLA ji was present at 7 o'clock and he started working from 7 o'clock in the morning. I express my gratitude to him, I express my gratitude to the media colleagues, who have covered the entire program since morning. People have worked here with an open mind, they have not cared that their hands and feet are getting dirty, they have worked without caring about the arrangements. He expressed regret and said that if you people have faced any inconvenience in this program, we will try to make it better. This is a very good team, in the coming times, with the support of all of you, more programs of social awareness like this will continue.
The collector while giving a message to the public said that we accept the faith of the public, but it does not mean that garbage should be dumped here in this manner. One party keeps dumping garbage here and the other party keeps cleaning the garbage from here, this culture is not a spiritual culture at all, as much as the gods and goddesses are revered, rivers and ponds are also revered by us. He urged the public not to dump garbage in Belatal at all. In future, some such arrangement is being made so that the public can dump Nirmalya and if anyone dumps garbage here, they will be fined and action will be taken against them. The collector said that soon we are going to take steps towards banning polythene and encouraging the use of bags and sacks. This is a question of culture, a question of habits, it cannot be fixed overnight, so we will try to take it forward gradually so that such things do not happen at all in the festivals that are coming up.
