Anuppur, Another shameful case has come to light in Anuppur, Kotwali police station area. Where a 37-year-old woman was made to have physical relations with a man on the pretext of marriage. After the woman became pregnant in October 2003 and gave birth to a son on 31st July, the accused considered him his son and refused to marry her and threatened to kill her. The woman lodged a complaint of rape, where a case of rape has been registered against the accused by the police. The rapist was none other than Shashi Educational Welfare Society president Mahesh Prasad Napit, father late Kamla Prasad Napit, resident of Ward 15 Jaithari, who was awarded Rs. 1 lakh by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh for Mukhyamantri Utkrisht Swayamsevak Sangathan on 27 November 2017. Not only this, the accused was a social worker as well as a mentor in the Chief Minister's Community Leadership Development, a consultant in the Jan Abhiyan Parishad and earlier the director of Gayatri Vidya Shishu Mandir. The police registered a case against the accused under sections 376, 376(2)(N) and 506 and arrested the accused Mahesh Prasad Napit and presented him in the court, from where he was sent to jail.

This is the case:
The victim told that in the year 2012 she met Mahesh Napit, the director of Gayatri Vidya Shishu Mandir, at the time of her children's admission, where they started talking on the phone about the children's education and gradually as their acquaintance grew, Mahesh Prasad started visiting her house. In the year 2021, when the children were not at home during the lockdown due to Covid, he came to the rented house in Ward No. 13 Anuppur and forcibly had physical relations twice and since then he continued to have physical relations and on asking to complain about it in the police station, he threatened to defame her and threatened that the food she would get from her husband after divorce would stop and also kept assuring that he would help her financially and would marry her later.

Now he refused to accept his son
The woman told that due to constant assurances of marriage and continuous physical relations, I became pregnant in the year 2023, after which I gave birth to a son on 31 July 2024 in Jabalpur Medical College, since then Mahesh Prasad started distancing himself from me and saying that this is not my child, he refused to marry me and started threatening to kill me if I leave.

Separated from her husband in the year 2016
The complainant told that she was married in the year 2003 with rituals, from which she has two children. After living together for 13 years, I separated from my husband in 2016 due to differences and started living with my two children in a rented house in Ward 13 in Anuppur. Taking advantage of my separation from my husband and being alone, Mahesh Naapit kept assuring me that he would soon divorce his wife and marry me and kept having physical relations with me.
