Patna, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has got permission to meet students in Darbhanga, Bihar on May 15, but this program will not be held at the place where it was earlier decided. The district administration said late on Wednesday that now this program will be held in the town hall.

Actually, earlier this program was to be held in Ambedkar Hostel, but permission was not given there. Congress National Media Convenor Abhay Dubey said that this decision has been taken under the pressure of the state government. The District Welfare Officer of Darbhanga only said that the program will not be allowed in Ambedkar Hostel, but did not give the reason behind it. This program of Rahul Gandhi is a part of the campaign named "Shiksha Nyay Samvad", in which he is talking to Dalit students. This campaign is being run all over Bihar.

Dubey said, "We have requested the Darbhanga administration to reconsider their decision. We hope they will take the right decision. Rahul Gandhi's program was to make people aware. It is unfortunate that his effort is being seen from a political perspective. But still, he is firmly standing in the fight for social justice, and education is an important part of this fight." Earlier, Congress' Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru had told the media that apart from the program in Darbhanga, Rahul Gandhi may also watch the film "Phule" in a theater in Patna. This film is based on the life of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, the inspiration of the Dalit society.
