Muzaffarpur, Bihar has been under complete liquor ban for 8 years. Under this law, drinking and selling liquor is strictly prohibited. Despite this, neither the drinkers are taking the name of reforming nor the sellers are giving up their habits. This is the reason that every day liquor smugglers are being caught with a large consignment of liquor.

After staying in jail for a few months, they come out and join the liquor business and smuggle liquor. Foreign liquor is brought to Bihar from other states and is sold at various places. The latest case is from Muzaffarpur where a truck was seized in an abandoned condition. A large consignment of foreign liquor has been recovered from the truck. The truck has been seized near Pokharera toll tax in Jaitpur police station area.

Jaitpur police station in-charge Vikas Kumar of Muzaffarpur had received secret information that a truck loaded with liquor was going to pass through Muzaffarpur-Chhapra main road. After this information, the police station in-charge formed a police team. Then suddenly the police noticed a truck lying abandoned near Pokharera toll tax on Muzaffarpur Chhapra main road in Jaitpur police station area. When the police searched the truck, they saw that the entire truck was full of illegal liquor. After which the police completed the paperwork and seized the truck and took it to the police station. At present, the foreign liquor loaded in the truck is being counted. Its value is said to be in lakhs of rupees.
