Satna, quack doctors are in abundance in almost all the assembly constituencies of the district, the condition of villagers is miserable, people go to government hospitals due to seasonal diseases, in which most of the doctors and nurses are absent from the hospital or there are people who write prescriptions for expensive medicines and get the expensive medicines from their set-up medical stores. Due to which the poor patients of rural areas are forced to get treatment from quack doctors, who are charging huge amounts by giving green and yellow pills. For example, there is an abundance of unregistered doctors (quacks) and hospitals in Satna, Nagaud, Amarpatan, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Rampur Baghel and surrounding rural areas. Local people say that their number is increasing continuously, among them many doctors are doing medical work illegally at home. They are playing with the lives of people by doing illegal business under the nose of the health department and district administration. Many patients even die due to the treatment of these quack doctors, but due to lack of information, no action is taken against anyone. On the other hand, due to lack of awareness, poverty and illiteracy, complaints are not even registered. People say that many victim families have not been able to get justice till date. Due to illiteracy, economic scarcity, lack of health facilities in rural areas and poor administrative system, the entire district is trapped in the web of quack doctors. Due to lack of government health facilities in rural areas, these quack doctors play with the health of patients in the name of cheap treatment. It has been seen many times that due to the treatment of quack doctors, the condition of the patients worsens or someone's injection gets spoiled or the medicines harm someone. In such a case, the patient is sent to a private hospital in the city where even if he is cured or dies, a huge bill is given to him by adding the commission of the quack doctor. The poor are looted from both sides.
