Patna, An incident of Shiva, the accused who attacked a tea vendor with a knife in Kankarbagh tempo stand area in Patna, escaping from police custody has come to light. The accused was taken to the hospital for medical examination. Shiva, dodging the constables who accompanied him, escaped from the ventilation of the toilet in the hospital on the pretext of defecation. In this case, the police is investigating the negligence of two constables. Kankarbagh police station in-charge Neeraj Kumar Thakur said that the incident took place last Monday. On September 21, Shiva abused the tea vendor Ajay Shah for delaying in serving tea. On protest, he attacked the shopkeeper with a bamboo cutting knife and fled.
The shopkeeper had a deep wound on his neck from the knife. Later, people admitted the injured Ajay to the hospital. Kankarbagh police was searching for the accused against whom a case was registered under the section of attempt to murder. The policemen had arrested the accused Shiva from the area. On Monday, before appearing in court, two constables took Shiva to a hospital in Kankarbagh for a medical checkup. There, the accused expressed his desire to go to the toilet. The constables opened the handcuffs and sent him inside the toilet and waited for him outside. Even after a long time, Shiva did not come out. When they opened the door and went inside, they were shocked to find the accused not there. Shiva had escaped by jumping from the ventilation.
