Pashupati Paras broke ties with NDA before elections
Told the reason for separation
Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party is no longer a part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Party chief and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras announced this on Monday (April 14). Announcing this, Paras said that his party faced injustice because it is a Dalit party and in the NDA meetings, the state heads of BJP and JDU in Bihar did not make any mention of his party.
Paras said, 'I have been with the NDA since 2014. Today I announce that from now on my party will have no connection with the NDA.' Talking about the political future of his party, Pashupati Paras said, 'If the Grand Alliance gives us due respect at the right time, then we will definitely think about politics in the future.' Paras has held several meetings with RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav this year.
Allegations against Nitish Kumar
Paras announced his party's separation from the NDA at a function organised on the occasion of BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary on Monday. At the RLJP function, Paras also accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said, 'In Nitish Kumar's 20-year rule, the education system in the state has been ruined, no new industries have been set up, and rampant corruption affects the implementation of all welfare schemes.'
Reacting to the development, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said that 'there will be no adverse effect on the NDA'. The RLJP was formed in 2021 after a split in the Lok Janshakti Party, founded by his late brother Ram Vilas Paswan. Paras quit his cabinet post ahead of the Lok Sabha elections last year when his nephew's Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) got five seats to contest as an NDA constituent.
