Panna, under the Ajaygarh tehsil of Panna district, there is a lot of corruption in the canal of the pond being built in Gram Panchayat Padraha. Substandard material is being used. Aggregate and sand are being added in more quantity than the prescribed standard. Substandard sand is being used. As soon as the canal was built, it has been broken at many places and cracks have also appeared at many places. Farmers of the village are continuously protesting but the contractor is adamant on arbitrariness. Minor children are being used by the contractor in the canal being built by the Water Resources Department. Government work is being done for people who are 14, 15, 16, 17 years old. The contractor is keeping the government rules in mind and the villagers have told that we have also complained in 181 but no action has been taken till date. The farmers have told the media that if we are not listened to, we will protest in the Collectorate. The canal that has been built is not even bottomed, due to which cement and sand have also started flowing. The farmers have demanded that Good material should be used and it should be made of high quality.
