Satna, Satna Maihar district is witness to the extent to which overloading, illegal transportation and tax evasion prevailed. Another example of this was seen in Bagdara valley of Chitrakoot where a truck overloaded with clinker lost control and overturned. The driver and conductor got stuck in the clinker loaded in the vehicle. The conductor was somehow taken out and taken to the hospital, while the driver died there. In the scorching heat, overloaded vehicles go to Uttar Pradesh via Maihar, Uchehra, Nagaud, carrying goods overloaded about three times their capacity. If sources are to be believed, monthly money is sent per vehicle to the RTO, traffic in-charge of the district and to every police station on the way from these overloaded vehicles. This is the reason that despite seeing everything, the administrative system remains silent and every day such overloaded vehicles cause accidents and innocent citizens die. After all, why don't the Collector, Superintendent of Police and the responsible department try to stop this?
