Buxar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge termed the ruling alliance of Janata Dal United (JDU) and BJP in Bihar as 'opportunistic' and alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar changes sides only for the 'chair'. Addressing the party's 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim and Jai Samvidhaan' rally at Dalsagar Stadium here on Sunday, Kharge appealed to the people of Bihar to oust the NDA from power in the assembly elections to be held in the latter half of this year. The Congress President alleged, "The alliance between Nitish Kumar and BJP is opportunistic. This is not good for the people of the state. Nitish Kumar changes sides only for the 'chair' (Chief Minister's post). The JDU chief has joined hands with the ideology that killed Mahatma Gandhi.''

'Modi ji is running a factory of lies'

He questioned what happened to PM Modi's promise of a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar. He alleged that Modi is running a "factory of lies". Kharge claimed, "The people of Bihar should ask Nitish Kumar what happened to the package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Bihar on August 18, 2015? Modi ji is running a factory of lies." He called upon the people to oust the NDA government from power in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections and vote for the parties of the 'Mahagathbandhan'.

What did Kharge say on the National Herald case?

On the recent charge sheet filed by the ED against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, Kharge said, "This has been done to target the Congress. Our leaders cannot be intimidated. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the country.''

'BJP-RSS are against the weaker sections of the society'
The Congress president also alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP are not in favour of the welfare of the 'weaker sections' of the society. He claimed, "They are against the poor, women and weaker sections of the society... They (RSS-BJP) cannot think about the betterment of the society. They believe in dividing the society on the basis of caste and religion." He said that the Waqf Amendment Act passed by the Parliament is a conspiracy of the BJP, RSS to create division among the communities.
