Damoh, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr. Sarojini James Beck said that daily consumption of tricolor food is very important for children and adults in eliminating malnutrition and achieving good health. He said that under the National Adolescent Health Programme, a cluster meeting was organized yesterday at all the sub-health centers of the district to make teenagers aware about the tricolor diet and the sources of nutrition. Information about the importance of consuming tricolor diet was given through a comic book by the master trainer of Gram Bharati Mahila Mandal.

In tricolor food, consumption of orange colored food items like all grains, yellow pulses, gram, kidney bean, potato, papaya, carrot, banana, tomato gives strength to the body, whereas consumption of white colored food items like milk, etc. is beneficial for the growth and development of the body. Consumption of prepared things like curd, buttermilk, cheese, rice, radish, turnip, garlic is beneficial. Whereas among green foods, consumption of all green vegetables like spinach, fenugreek, bathua, chalai, cabbage, cauliflower, lady's finger provides protection from diseases.
