Maihar, today as per the information received from the auto drivers, Maihar Collector Rani Baatar inspected the auto stand in the rain shelter outside the railway station and banned parking of autos in the station premises and will rein in the auto drivers who roam around the railway platform to catch passengers. Under this, the outline for the auto stand was explained and the auto drivers were also advised to improve in about a week and follow the new rules. As per the information received, whoever takes the auto for the auto will first take a token at the station and will sit in the auto according to the token and when the auto reaches the Devi Ji auto stand, the auto driver will get the fixed fare on giving the token and in this way the auto driver will not be able to put any pressure for any kind of prasad shop. After getting down from the auto at Devi Ji Dham, the passenger can go to the shop or place of his choice or anywhere. Now like before, the auto drivers will not be able to catch passengers by hanging in the trains inside the station. The scope of the auto drivers will be only till outside the auto stand. The auto which has a token with the number will take the passengers and that too will seat the fixed passengers in the auto. If the auto is not allowed, then If there are three passengers in an auto, then only three passengers, not the fourth one otherwise legal action will be taken. Auto drivers and owners who used to carry a dozen passengers instead of three in an auto, all this will not be done anymore. Maihar district is now trying to move towards development,
