Devendra Fadnavis will become Chief Minister for the third time
About 10 days after the results of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti alliance has chosen its Chief Minister. In the meeting of BJP MLAs on Wednesday, Devendra Fadnavis was elected the leader of the legislative party, after which he will now take oath as Chief Minister for the third time on Thursday. After Devendra Fadnavis's name was approved for the CM post, the Mahayuti alliance has presented a claim to form the government by submitting the formation letter to Governor CP Radhakrishnan. The Governor has also accepted the formation letter and invited the Mahayuti to form the government. Tomorrow i.e. Thursday, December 5, at 5:30 pm, the swearing-in ceremony will be held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.
Devendra will become Chief Minister for the third time
After forming the government, Devendra Fadnavis thanked acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. After the Mahayuti alliance got a massive majority in the assembly elections, Devendra Fadnavis is now set to start his third term. The BJP leadership on Wednesday finalized Devendra Fadnavis as its choice for the post of Chief Minister, ending the long-standing suspense over who would get the top post. Soon after, his name was placed before the newly elected MLAs and his selection was finalized with their approval. It is expected that Ajit Pawar may again take oath as Deputy CM along with Devendra Fadnavis, while the suspense remains on the name of Eknath Shinde.
Appeal to Eknath Shinde to join the government
After staking claim to form the government, Devendra Fadnavis said, 'Today we have met the Governor ... and as the President of Shiv Sena and the leader of the Shiv Sena Legislative Party, Eknath Shinde has given a letter recommending my name for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra ... The Governor has invited us to form the government. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on December 5 (tomorrow) at 5.30 pm in the presence of Prime Minister Modi… This government will work to fulfill the promises we have made to the people of Maharashtra. I met Eknath Shinde yesterday. I requested him to join the government. All Shiv Sena MLAs also want the same. We will have a meeting tomorrow to decide who will take oath. A decision will be taken in this.
