Siya's parents speak out for the first time in the Ketan Agarwal case
They state: If guilt is proven, the strictest punishment should be imposed
Pune, The family of the prime accused, Siya Goyal, has issued a statement for the first time regarding the case of Ketan Agarwal, whose body was found in a gorge near Lohagad Fort. Describing Ketan as a promising and well-mannered young man, Siya's parents stated that if the allegations against their daughter are proven in court, she should receive the harshest possible punishment under the law.
According to media reports, Ketan and Siya were set to marry in a few months, but Siya is now under investigation as an accused in the case.
'Ketan was like a son to us'
Siya's father, Pravin Goyal, said that his bond with Ketan went beyond the relationship of a future son-in-law; he regarded him as his own son. He added that the incident has left both families in deep shock.
He said, "We still cannot believe that Ketan is no longer with us. He was like a son to us. We have lost an exceptionally good, promising, and well-mannered young man. This is an incredibly painful moment for us. The family had cherished many dreams for the future with him, and the wedding was planned to take place in Udaipur."
'Siya never raised objections regarding the marriage'
According to Pravin Goyal, his daughter never expressed any disagreement or displeasure regarding the relationship or the marriage. He noted that Siya always spoke positively about Ketan, and relations between the two families were cordial.
He stated, "If there had been any issues, they could have been discussed with us or with the relatives who arranged the match. We were never informed of any tension or differences."
'The guilty must face severe punishment, even if it is my own daughter'
An emotional Siya's father declared that if anyone is found guilty in this incident, they must receive the strictest punishment—even if that person happens to be his own daughter. He emphasized that justice must prevail above all else. Mother says: Two families have been devastated
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Siya's mother stated that Ketan was a very good young man and that this tragedy has shattered both families.
She said, "I was deeply shocked to hear the news. I kept wondering how something like this could happen. This incident has devastated two families. Ketan was a very good and sensible young man."
'Siya had no fondness for parties or habit of drinking alcohol'
Siya's mother stated that her daughter did not consume alcohol, nor did she have any interest in parties or similar activities. She remarked that if there had been any suspicion or issue, the family should have been consulted.
She added, "Everything had been normal for the past four months. Such allegations have surfaced only after this incident; prior to this, one heard only positive things about Siya."
It is worth noting that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the court has not yet delivered a final verdict against any of the accused. Consequently, all allegations are subject to the judicial process, and the concerned parties are legally presumed innocent until guilt is proven.
